Jakaro tips: 9 ways to win more games with your partner
4 November 2026 · Jakoz Gaming
Jakaro rewards players who think one turn ahead. Luck decides your cards, but how you spend them decides the game. These nine tips come from watching hundreds of games.
1. Keep an Ace or King in your hand
Only an A or a K brings a marble out. If all your marbles are stuck at home and you have neither, you are wasting turns. Don't throw your last one away.
2. The start hole is a shield
A marble on its own start hole blocks everyone: nobody can pass it, land on it or swap it. Leave a marble there when an opponent is about to run past, and they are stuck behind it.
3. Save the 7 for a double move
The 7 is the most powerful card. Split it to bring two marbles home at once, or run past a row of opponents and send them all back to base. Don't spend it on a plain 7-step move.
4. Use the 5 on your opponents
The 5 moves any marble. Push an opponent's marble past its home entrance so it has to go round again, or move it right in front of your partner.
5. The Jack is an escape and a weapon
Swap your marble that is in danger with an opponent's marble that is close to home. You jump ahead and they fall back.
6. The 4 backwards is a shortcut
A marble just out of the base can go 4 back and be only a few holes from home. Many beginners forget this.
7. Burn with the 10 at the right time
Burning takes a random card from the next player. It hurts most late in a round, when they have few cards left and every card counts.
8. Count the opponents' threats
A marble 1 to 13 holes in front of an opponent can be landed on. When you can, stop just behind them instead of just in front.
9. Play for the team
Once your marbles are home you play for your partner, so helping them early is never wasted. Don't land on your partner's marble unless it truly saves the game.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best card in Jakaro?
Most players say the 7, because you can split it between two marbles and send back every opponent marble you pass. The Joker is just as strong because it can be any card.
Can I land on my partner’s marble?
Yes, and it goes back to its base, so only do it when it really helps your team.
How do I practise Jakaro alone?
Play against computer players on Jakoz at easy, medium or hard level, free.
