ONO: how to play
ONO is a fast, loud card game for 2 to 4 players: match the colour or the number, hit your friends with +2 and +4, and be the first to empty your hand. Play it free on Jakoz with friends and voice chat, or against the computer.

Players and cards
2 to 4 players, everyone for themselves. Each player gets 7 cards. The deck has 108 cards in four colours (red, yellow, green and blue): a 0 and two of each number from 1 to 9, plus two Skip, two Reverse and two +2 cards per colour, and 8 black Colour cards (4 Colour and 4 Colour +4).
Your turn
- Play one card that matches the top card’s colour, or its number or symbol. A Colour card can always be played.
- Nothing fits, or you’d rather keep your cards? Draw one card. If something fits now you may play it, or keep the card and pass.
The special cards
| Card | What it does |
|---|---|
| ⊘ Skip | The next player misses their turn |
| ⇄ Reverse | Play changes direction (with 2 players it works as a Skip) |
| +2 | The next player draws 2 cards and misses their turn |
| Colour | You choose the colour to play next |
| Colour +4 | You choose the colour, and the next player draws 4 and misses their turn |
Passing it on
Hit by a +2? Play another +2 or a +4 and the next player faces the total. A +4 can be passed on with another +4. The pile keeps growing until someone can’t answer and has to draw it all. (Hosts can switch this off in their table’s rules.)
Say “ONO!”
When you play your second-to-last card, tap ONO!. Forget, and you draw 2 cards as a penalty.
Winning
The first player to play their last card wins. Their score is the value of the cards left in everyone else’s hands: numbers count their value, Skip, Reverse and +2 count 20, Colour cards count 50.
Tips
- Keep your Colour cards for when you’re stuck, or for the moment someone is down to one card.
- Watch the card counts: when the next player has one or two cards left, hit them with Skip, +2 or +4.
- Get rid of high numbers and action cards early: if someone else finishes first, they count against you.
- Change to the colour you hold most of.
Is it like UNO or Crazy Eights?
Yes, ONO belongs to the same family of shedding card games as Crazy Eights. If you have played UNO, you will feel at home in seconds. ONO is Jakoz’s own version with its own cards and design, Gulf-style house rules like passing on +2 and +4, and voice chat with your friends.
Ways to play on Jakoz
- Play with friends: make a 2 or 4 player table, share the link or code and talk with voice chat.
- Quick match: 1 vs 1 or 4 players with whoever is online; computer players fill empty seats.
- Practice: against 1 or 3 computer players at easy, medium or hard level.
Fair deals
Cards are shuffled and dealt on the Jakoz game server; each player’s phone only receives its own hand, and the draw pile stays hidden from everyone.
